The Comparative Politics and Public Administration course introduces students to two major fields in political science. Taken together, these fields deal with formulation, design, and implementation of policy. We discuss such fundamental questions as the difference between democracy and autocracy, the role of parliament and government in a political system, or difference between the public and the private sector. Students also learn about the basics of comparative method, which helps them distinguish between various institutional designs and outcomes, as well as normatively assess political processes using notions of corruption, rule of law, good governance and ethics in civil service.
