Sensor Technology, 2.5 hp
The course covers various parts of a computer-based measurement system and the entire measurement chain, from physical quantity to a measurement value in a computer. A number of sensor principles are covered together with the static and dynamic properties that describe a sensor.
In the course you will also learn about the electronics, e.g. analog to digital conversion, which is needed to be able to process a sensor signal in a computer.
An introduction to disturbances and uncertainties in measurements is also given, and in connection with this, basic concepts in signal processing are also discussed.
The course concludes with the latest trends in sensor technology, where we look at smart sensors, among other things.
