Social Orientation in Virtual Reality: Opportunities and Challenges
The project encompasses an eight-month-long pilot study exploring the possibilities and challenges of designing and extending Civic Orientation for newcomers in Sweden into an immersive learning experience in Virtual Reality (VR).
The pilot study will be conducted in collaboration with the integration center for immigrants in Gothenburg, Sweden. The output from the pilot study will be organized and conveyed through a formal report on the implications of extending the Civic Orientation program to be supported by immersive learning experiences in VR. The report will also serve as a basis for a long-term project application addressing the same theme in a more comprehensive manner. Additionally, preliminary research results from the pilot study will be generated and disseminated through research articles in the form of a conference paper and a journal article.
