Research activities will be carried out in co-production with the company, and where the researcher works 50% of the time directly with the company. The close collaboration provides a very good understanding of opportunities and challenges in the wood manufacturing industry, in order to achieve a more sustainable and competitive production together with the company.

The close collaboration between the university's researchers and the company in the project generates co-produced research, and new knowledge and competence from both parties. The fact that the researcher from the university works together with the company and is also to a large extent physically present in the company's production facilities strengthens the exchange of knowledge. The researcher will work at the company in logistics and simulation of production flows to study different logistics models in e.g. operational planning, inventory management, and methods of capacity planning for the manufacture of wood products.
