Adaptation to the power system of the future for small and medium-sized companies
The project aims to spread knowledge among smaller companies about the need for future control of consumption and how financial control tools optimally utilized can provide great financial benefits.
The ongoing electrification poses major challenges both for load flows and the stability of the power system, which means that there is expected to be an increasing demand for controllability at the same time that electricity prices will increase and fluctuate more. Knowledge of financial control tools for the power system is very limited in smaller companies and it is uncertain how existing facilities are affected by increased control.
The project aims to spread knowledge among smaller companies about the need for future control of consumption and how financial control tools optimally utilized can provide great financial benefits. Different businesses are studied to analyze how existing installations and new investments can be used to achieve increased controllability, which can result in both reduced costs for purchased electricity and revenue from system services. The project aims to study how different businesses can optimize consumption, energy storage and production, as well as to implement several pilot projects in collaboration with local companies.
