The International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia, and Biphobia aims to heighten awareness of violations against LGBTQI+ rights and promote global interest in LGBTQI+ rights. To mark this occasion, the University West, the Center for Sustainability in collaboration with RFSL Gothenburg including its newcomers program, will host a seminar and panel discussion focusing on the challenges and experiences of LGBTQI+ individuals from different countries and regions of the world.

Titled, "Homofobia and transfobia – Safer spaces but no safe space: Global, European and Swedish perspectives," the seminar underscores the reality that while some countries may offer (or not) shelter to LGBTQI+ individuals facing various threats, ranging from stigma to physical violence and even the death penalty, ultimately, there is no completely secure environment for the LGBTQI+ community, not even in Europe or Sweden.
