AI BASERAD KVALITETSSTYRNING OCH KONTROLL (AI Based Quality Control), 2.5 HP
The course provides an overview of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how it can be applied in quality control applications. We cover the theoretical background but will focus mainly on practical applications of the concept. The aim is to provide a vision and basic knowledge of the covered topics for a target audience with no or few prior knowledge in the AI field. It will be discussed how quick and continuous process adjustments based on AI-based quality control systems can improve production.

Professionals of the manufacturing industry who want to improve their theoretical and practical knowledge in quality control and AI based techniques.
Content
The course includes the following modules: Review of quality control techniques; Sensor data
fusion; Introduction to AI and Machine Learning; Supervised and unsupervised learning; Supervised
learning and deep learning project.
Prerequisites
Three years of higher education (Bachelor level) in engineering & technology (bachelor’s degree
corresponding to 180CP). Alternatively relevant professional work experience.

Course material
Scientific articles together with reports and prepared lectures will be used as the course material. The content will be available in an online learning platform.
Implementation and pedagogic concept
The course is based on University West’s concept of work integrated learning, which aims at integrating both theory and practice in education. Theoretical lectures are combined with case studies and practical examples.
