The research environment “Learning in and for the new working life” (LINA) focuses on research in the area of Work-Integrated Learning (WIL). As the knowledge interests of the LINA environment have a strong relationship with the university's overall organizational profile WIL, it is natural that the research environment includes researchers and staff from the entire university. For many years, the LINA environment has focused on research on the conditions for learning and knowledge development in working life. LINA consists of about 75 researchers from subjects, such as informatics, pedagogy, economics, psychology, health care and cultural sciences and more, and there are also some 25 doctoral students working in the research environment.
LINA emphasizes the importance of formulating the aims and issues of the projects in close dialogue with the activities in which the research is carried out, and that the research design of the projects is oriented towards social development and change, while the research environment prioritizes resources to be able to act quickly on research collaborations from the outside world.
There are four related knowledge interests that work focused on development and research:
* WIL as an educational design
* Digitalised education
* Competences within welfare
* IT, healthcare and learning
* Industrial WIL
The Welfare Workshop is the arena where we have worked cross sectors and innovatively, with collaboration, openness and public welfare, which are also interwoven in various educational and research projects.
In IT, healthcare and learning, technology development and digitization are studied which can be both costly and cost effective. Research is needed to study the use of technology and the balance between efficiency and quality. LINA has been working on a continued development of a mapping of healthcare digitalizsation and what research issues this entails.
Within Industrial WIL, we have identified a number of themes that need to be developed and explored in close collaboration with organizations and companies. It is leadership and management of digitization processes, competence and security in human-robot interactions, sustainable services and business models, and virtual environments for collaboration and learning.
The research on WIL as an educational design raises fundamental critical questions about how our WIL profile can understand the added value and conflicts between the goals of the university and the interests of our collaborating partners in the surrounding world. Questions on how research on WIL can be enriched by international collaborations and comparisons are also central.
