Forskningsområde/forskningsintresse

I centrum för mitt forskningsintresse står elevers lärande och identitetsskapande i relation till undervisning och bedömning, och vilka möjligheter till meningsfullt lärande, motivation och social inkludering som skolan ger elever med olika bakgrund. På senare år har jag kommit att se det som allt mer viktigt att analysera undervisning och bedömning utifrån barns och ungas perspektiv, och att bidra till skolutveckling med sikte på att stärka barns rättigheter och minska ojämlikhetsmönster. Min forskning innefattar bl.a. nationella prov, individuella utvecklingsplaner och hur intelligensdiskurser påverkar ungas lärande och identitet. Just nu arbetar jag i ett forskningsprojekt som syftar till att utforska engelskundervisning där elevers språkliga erfarenheter och drivkrafter utanför skolan tas tillvara.

Undervisning/handledning

Jag undervisar i lärarprogrammen och i det barn-och ungdomsvetenskapliga magisterprogrammet, främst om bedömning, utbildningssociologi och vetenskaplig metod (etnografi).

Inom dessa områden handleder jag också examensarbeten. Jag är biträdande handledare för en doktorand, Eva Johansson, som skriver om bedömningar i förskolan.
